It is also the second largest producer of rice, wheat, cotton, sugarcane, farmed fish, sheep and goat meat, fruit, vegetables, and tea.But day by day the economic condition of Indian farms remains below the poverty line.Because the farmer is not passing on the fair price of his produce, the middle man makes money from the farmer’s produce.Our farmers are the most humiliated by the society but they are honest to give their hard work.

The government of India classifies farmers into five categories based on the size of land they own

Marginal: Less than 1 hectare

Small: 1–2 hectares

Semi-medium: 2–4 hectares

Medium: 4–10 hectares

Large: 10 hectares and above
